Job Description
Purpose of the Job
To perform all quality assurance functions with a strong focus on maintaining compliance with quality and food safety standards throughout the production process. This role includes supporting the effective implementation of Quality and Food Safety Management Systems and participating in internal and external audits by accompanying auditors during operational walkthroughs to drive compliance and continuous improvement.Job Requirement
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Food Technology, Environmental or Natural Resource Management, or Agricultural Science.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in the meat or food processing industry.
- Solid QA experience with HACCP, ISO, BRCGS, and regulatory compliance.
- Knowledge of food laws, health principles, and DVS requirements.
- Skilled in audits, inspections, and incident evaluation in the meat industry.
- Experience in supplier assessments and meeting customer quality standards.
Key Deliverables/Key Perfomance Areas
Key Performance Areas
- Coordinate and monitor quality assurance activities, including inspections and internal/external audits.
- Manage non-conformances and customer complaints, including investigation, corrective actions, and follow-ups.
- Analyse laboratory and microbiological results to ensure products meet required quality and safety standards.
- Monitor product quality trends and conduct sensory evaluations to identify risks and improvement areas.
- Support production teams by advising on food safety, quality standards, and production line start-up and stoppage.
- Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to QA Officers to improve overall quality performance.
- Maintain accurate documentation, reporting, and record-keeping while ensuring effective communication with stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with SHEQ policies, food safety regulations, and company standards, including hygiene and housekeeping.
